Description
After a trip to Venice, I committed my impressions of St. Mark's square onto this piece from some of my photographs. This is a lino cut, an experiment with reflection and shadow, the black and white piece being the most popular. It is very personal to me too, the photograph it is based upon is very poignant to me, taken by a girlfriend at the time. My intention was for the piece to be of a photograph of both of us, but the relationship ended shortly thereafter, so I focused on the photograph of just me. This piece, with it's "tyre track" appearance inspired Edinburgh Rock band "The Tracks" to commission me for their EP "Know We're Here".
